TRUE linkswear OG Feel Shoe Review

TRUE linkswear OG Feel Shoe

One of my go-to golf shoes for the past season has been my TRUE linkswear OG Xs. Oh my god, I love them so much… Fast forward to this summer and TRUE linkswear hits us with a new interpretation of the OG called the “OG Feel”. Flexible and breathable, the more minimalist OG Feel is an absolute pleasure to wear both on and off the course.

The Looks

TRUE linkswear combines a soft knit upper with a leather saddle for the lacing system. This gives the OG Feel a nice casual relaxed look that fits both on and off the course. The OG Feel certainly fits a wide range of looks. You can easily pull off business casual, golf professional, drinks at a bar, or backyard bbq all with one pair of shoes. Regardless of where, when I see someone wearing them I just think “man, that person looks super comfortable.” TRUE linkswear currently offers three different color options. Pictured here is the grey/brown/white offering but there is a white/navy blue option and a slick black and grey colorway with hints of red.

Comfort Level

Listen, I honestly don’t know where to begin when it comes to the TRUE linkswear OG Feel’s comfort. It is by far one of the most freeing shoes I’ve ever worn. The knit upper feels almost nonexistent with good airflow through the shoe. As TRUE linkswear says “feel the breeze between your toes and the earth beneath your feet”. Aside from the laces keeping the shoe snug to your foot, it feels almost as if you aren’t even wearing shoes. The zero-drop construction and flexible outsole give you tremendous feedback from the ground for excellent feel on the course. The toe box is also a bit wider and can accommodate up to 4E widths.

As a whole, the OG Feel is a flexible shoe that enables a lot of natural mobility. If you prefer a more rigid shoe for tons of ankle and foot stability, this is not it. Players that like to have more freedom in their feet throughout the swing will be best fit for this shoe. Of course, everyone has their own personal preferences which will ultimately form your opinion here.

On-Course Performance

As mentioned already, the TRUE linkswear OG Feel is very flexible with a natural range of motion. How well this performs for you will depend on a lot of personal preferences and swings, but if having free-range mobility in your feet is important to you, you’re covered here. You won’t have issues with sliding around as the lacing will keep the shoe comfortably in place. The OG Feel’s rubber tread provides fairly good traction for a spikeless shoe on the course. The tread pattern also transfers comfortably to the parking lot and any other surface off of the course. TRUE linkswear’s signature zero-drop also keeps you ultra in-tune with the ground beneath you in any lie.

The OG Feel is considerably lightweight clocking in at a whopping 8.7 ounces. If you don’t know, that’s almost unfathomably light, especially for a golf shoe. From weight and breathability alone, the OG Feel is perfect for wearing all day in most conditions. While not listed as fully waterproof, the sock-fit knit upper has a DWR (durable water repellent) shell that will keep your feet dry in morning few or mild moisture.

Final Thoughts – TRUE linkswear OG Feel

Again, I found the TRUE linkswear OG Feel to be extremely comfortable for long periods of time. The statement that the OG Feel almost feels like you’re wearing nothing at all was very accurate for me. In addition to predictably great shoes, TRUE linkswear continues to deliver on the small details that have come to define the brand. One of those being the reusable shoe bag the OG Feel comes with rather than a traditional cardboard box. If nothing else, TRUE linkswear creates a unique product and experience that separates themselves from the rest of their market. In my humble opinion, there’s nothing else out there quite like the TRUE linkswear OG Feel shoe.
