DRM - Bring Me the Horizon

Driving Range Music – Bring Me the Horizon

Haven’t posted one of these in awhile, but a couple recent practice sessions and lawn mows brought these posts back to the top of mind. It’s also the start of the warmer season for us which automatically means prime music listening conditions. A band that has been hitting the spot for me lately is Bring Me the Horizon (BMTH). These guys are a rock band out of Sheffield, England that I’ve been a fan of for probably somewhere around 13 years now, and they’ve really evolved since their early days.

Originally more of a “deathcore” band, their style has transitioned through metalcore, to more electronic and melodic versions of metalcore, to electronica/electronica pop. Don’t worry, they’ve still maintained hints of hardcore/metal roots that defined their early years and are still a rock band at the end of the day. I’m sure these guys won’t be everybody’s cup of tea, but if you don’t mind a little hardcore/screamcore in your life, have a listen. Not all of it necessarily falls into that category. I mean, these guys have been nominated for Grammy’s…so there has to be something there.

I had a hard time picking a bunch of individual songs, and the videos can get a little iffy. So I picked this YouTube Playlist of a show Bring Me the Horizon did at the Royal Albert Hall somewhere around 2015/16. If the playlist function doesn’t work for you, the rest of the show is easy to find on YouTube, which I encourage.

Here are some from more recent years that I really like:

And this was one of their more melodic hits which is in the Royal Albert Hall show above, but if you would like to hear the the normal version, here it is:

Ok, and because I love the song Throne:
