ECCO BIOM C5 Golf Shoe
The ECCO BIOM C5 represents the latest evolution in the brand’s premier spikeless line. Building on the foundation of the C4, this model focuses on enhancing multi-directional traction and refining the “low-to-the-ground” feel that the BIOM line is known for. It remains a tech-heavy option designed for golfers who prioritize breathability and a natural foot position during the swing.
The Looks
ECCO continues to bridge the gap between performance footwear and modern lifestyle design with the Biom C5. The upper utilizes high-quality performance leather paired with a new stretchy knit sock around the collar, giving the shoe a trainer-inspired silhouette. This technical look is anchored by the visible “Exhaust Grid” in the midsole, which provides a structural, industrial accent while facilitating the shoe’s 360-degree ventilation. For 2026, ECCO has expanded the palette beyond standard neutrals to include several two-tone options like White/Federal Blue, Steel/Steel, and Wild Dove, alongside the classic black and white staples.
Comfort Level
There really is a lot happening in the ECCO BIOM C5 to deliver an extremely comfortable ride on the course. Comfort is driven by the BIOM Natural Motion last, which is anatomically shaped to support the foot’s natural curves. The direct-injection FluidForm process ensures the midsole and upper are a single unit. This eliminates stiff points often caused by glues or stitching. For those needing a bit more room, the Ortholite insole is removable to create a wider fit without losing the base cushioning. GORE-TEX Surround tech provides 360Âş ventilation that keeps your foot cool from the bottom up, but also dry in the wettest of conditions.
The BIOM C5 is very supportive and form-fitting to the foot and around the ankle. The walking experience is padded, but not overly pillowy so you’re lacking in support and get foot pain. This balance makes it a shoe you can comfortably wear on the course for the whole day. So far, this seems like a shoe you can comfortably wear on the course for the whole day without the typical foot fatigue associated with heavier or less flexible options.
On-Course Performance
The high level of comfort in the ECCO BIOM C5 is a significant contributor to the shoe’s overall performance. It’s supportive enough to provide a stable base without feeling overly rigid or stiff. This allows for natural flex and movement where and when you need it, avoiding a “freewheeling” feel during the swing. While the traction won’t be mistaken for a traditional spiked shoe, the grab from the outsole is strong for a spikeless design. Grip has been reliable in most conditions I’ve played in thus far. Furthermore, the low-profile construction provides excellent ground response, ensuring you stay connected to the turf throughout your swing.
Final Thoughts – ECCO BIOM C5 Golf Shoe
My greatest takeaway from testing the ECCO BIOM C5 is that it’s an incredibly comfortable shoe with reliable performance. Elements like the GORE-TEX Surround ventilation and the anatomical BIOM fit allow the shoe to simply do its job without becoming a distraction during the round. ECCO has delivered a premium shoe that combines high-end materials with a strong-performing, functional design.
