Ouzee Cooler Review

Ouzee Cooler

Ouzee Coolers offer a portable, easy way to keep your drinks cold, whether it be on the golf course, at the beach, or on the go.  If you’ve used a normal coozie before (please tell us you have), the idea is the same – cans are put inside of the neoprene sleeve in order to keep drinks cold for an extended period of time.  The difference is, the Ouzee is basically a long coozie that holds three cans, rather than just one.  If you’re a drinker on the course, you know it can be a pain to fill those golf bag cooler pockets with ice, haul a cooler with ice around, or sneak in some brews and ice in a plastic bag.  The Ouzee aims to provide an easy way to get your drinks on the course, and keep them cold!

The Looks

The Ouzee Cooler design is pretty simple and straightforward.  It’s a neoprene sleeve to hold can/bottle shaped objects.  You can easily fit three cans, two tall boys, normally shaped wine bottles, or a slimmer  750 mL bottle of booze in one without issue.  The sleeves themselves come in black or red, but the purpose here isn’t to be flashy, it’s to keep your drinks cold.

The material itself is a 7mm thick neoprene, the same material used in making wetsuits.  Why 7mm?  It’s the thickest size Ouzee could use, while still being able to sew the material together.  The tube features an easy-open zipper for quick access to grab a drink or refill the sleeve.  There’s also an adjustable clip strap so you can easily sling one or two of the full sleeves over your shoulder.  Whether heading to the course or the beach, it’s easy to carry and isn’t big and bulky like a normal cooler.

On-Course Performance

When it comes to the Ouzee Cooler, there’s two big performance factors for me –  portability and how cold it keeps my drinks.  Let’s start with portability.  The sleeve idea is great, simply because it minimizes how much space is taken up by the coolers.  Big square coolers or bags require ice, and the coolers themselves have irregular sizes.  The Ouzee is a little bit thicker than three stacked cans, without much extra space being taken up.  It fits perfectly in the large side pocket of the golf bag.  They’re extremely portable, easy to carry, and easy to stash in a bag or golf cart.  Not much more else I’d want here.

In terms of how cold it keeps my drinks, it does a fairly good job of this as well.  I’m not going to tell you it keeps your drinks as cold as a cooler full of ice, but after a few hours in my bag on a mildly hot summer day, my beer was still cool and tasted great.  Will it be chilling, ice cold, as if it were straight from a freezer?  No.  Will the mountains be blue? Absolutely (if you don’t get the Coors Light reference here, it means your beer will be cold).  If you pair the Ouzee with a normal beer coozie, you have a real winning combo there.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Ouzee Cooler is a cool product that gets the job done.  It’s portable, doesn’t take up a ton of space, and it keeps your drinks pretty cold.  At $20 a pop, it’s cheaper than a normal cooler, more portable, and keeps your drinks cold in your bag without any mess.  If you’ve been looking for an easy way to keep your beers cold on the course, give Ouzee a look.
