Revo Prosper Sunglasses Review

Revo Prosper Sunglasses

Revo recently created a “Revo x Bear Grylls” capsule collection featuring comfortable, versatile, durable and high-quality sunglasses to hold up to an active lifestyle. I reviewed the “virtually indestructible” Revo Prosper sunglasses from this Bear Grylls collection. These aviator-style sunglasses are lightweight and have an impact-resistant polycarbonate lens with a bendable frame. While not free climbing mountains or repelling down cliffs, a good sturdy pair of sunglasses is also quite useful when golfing.

The Looks

With a more modern take on an aviator-style pair of sunglasses, the Revo Prosper has a sleek appearance that transitions well from the car to the golf course. Revo utilized what they call “8-base lens technology” which gives the thin-wire-framed Prosper a more curved look across your eyes as opposed to the flatter profile of a traditional aviator. With the extra curve in them around your face, you also get better coverage in your peripheral.

The Prosper is available in three different color variations. Pictured here is the matte gold frame with Terra lenses. The other two options are a matte black with with a graphite lens, and a matte gunmetal with Revo’s signature Blue Water lens.

Comfort Level

I mentioned earlier that the Revo Prosper is lightweight. To give the Prosper its fair due, the thin wire frame makes it extra lightweight and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. For as lightweight as the Prosper is, it’s astounding how resilient they are. Also, the nose pads are adjustable for a custom fit and rest comfortably on your face.

I think I say this in every sunglasses review I do. One area that I don’t think gets enough credit in terms of comfort is the lens. Try a pair of glasses with a trash lens for a few hours, then try a pair with a premium lens. In my experience I notice a significant difference in eye fatigue, and even headaches. It’s so much easier on the eyes over a long period of time when you have a good lens. The Prosper’s polarized Serilium lenses are easy on your eyes and have what Revo calls Revo Light Management System. The Revo Light Management System filters the bad stuff like UV, HEV, and Blue Light.

Oh, speaking of Blue Light, the lenses are also “digital device-friendly”. Now your polarized lens won’t distort your digital screens when you look at them. This nice because now you don’t have to take your glasses off to look at your phone!

On-Course Performance

Regardless of what activity you’re doing in the Revo Prosper, the polarized lenses are very vivid. Views have very sharp definition and high contrast. Even in somewhat overcast conditions, the image is still clear and comfortably bright. This is the point where I remind you to pick your preferred color for the lens as it will play a role in how things look through your sunglasses. (I assume that’s fairly intuitive.)

On the course, assuming the Prosper fits your head (size 61-14-135 for you sunglasses experts), these sunglasses are excellent. The curved profile mentioned earlier isn’t quite wraparound, but you get good full-eye coverage from this design. The vivid view discussed just above highlights landscape features and gives you clear definition of the topography. Of course, let’s not forget finding your ball in the rough. The contrast of a white ball against a green backdrop really pops. Contours of putting surface stand out nicely almost making greens easier to read.

Final Thoughts – Revo Prosper Sunglasses

I didn’t address the “indestructible” element of the Revo Prosper sunglasses a ton in this review. My thought was “I saw Revo’s pictures of bending the frame in half, but it’s not worth the risk for a perfectly good pair of sunglasses.” I mean, when am I ever going to bend my glasses like that, so why risk it? As I was wrapping up this review, I said to myself, “hey, Revo wants you to test these glasses out to their full extent so you have to do it.” As you can see above, I took the Prosper and bent them right in half. Multiple times. And every time, they returned right back to their original form! I didn’t have the guts to test what it takes to scratch the lenses…

Ultimately, the Revo Prosper is a durable pair of sunglasses that’s extremely comfortable to wear and easy on your eyes. If you’re an active person and want a quality all-purpose pair of sunglasses, the Prosper is certainly a good option to consider.
